Job description

Brandt is currently looking for a Purchasing Manager - Construction & Developments in our Regina location. This role will lead the development and execution of commodity sourcing requirements across the Brandt Group of Companies throughout North America. The Purchasing Manager will collaborate using supplier and market data to support sourcing, contracting, and supplier relationships. The position involves creating and managing agreements, establishing links with stakeholders and suppliers, and facilitating planning, sourcing, and contracting pursuits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities cover three main areas of Brandt’s operations:

  1. Review, monitor, and support all construction tenders.
  2. Lead and establish unit pricing for civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, flooring, finishing, and carpentry items.
  3. Establish major construction material contracts, including signage, boilers, panels, lighting, and building controls.
  4. Plan and execute utility strategies for gas, water, and electricity across North America.
  5. Support facility service contracts such as landscaping, janitorial, and network services.
  6. Analyze spend portfolios to determine procurement approaches based on dollar magnitude, strategic importance, and value opportunities.
  7. Become a subject matter expert in supply markets for assigned areas and advise on market trends.
  8. Manage supplier relationships to support business requirements.
  9. Master the contracting process, including negotiation, preparation, and administration.
  10. Deliver contracts that meet technology, quality, and cost goals, protecting company assets.
  11. Interface with suppliers and business units to reduce costs, standardize goods/services, and adopt new technologies.
  12. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  13. Track and deliver quantifiable financial benefits.
  14. Train and develop team members and perform managerial responsibilities.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years in procurement or supply chain roles.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Professional procurement or project management certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge of strategic, transactional, and international procurement.
  • Competence in managing legal documents and commercial law basics.
