Job summary

Univar Solutions Canada Ltd. in North York is seeking a skilled Inventory and Supply Planning Manager to oversee branch inventory, drive performance and lead a team of supply planners and forecasters to support overall business goals.

You will collaborate closely with purchasing and sales teams to monitor stock, improve forecast accuracy and optimize inventory levels, while mentoring staff and applying strong ERP–MRP proficiency in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage inventory and forecast accuracy in a distribution setting.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with staff development experience.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Oversees branch inventory and service targets.
• Manages and develops a team of supply planners, forecaster and inventory coordinator.
• Collaborates with purchasing and sales to monitor stock and reduce underperforming inventory.
• Assesses purchasing options and completes approvals.
• Sets goals and improves forecast performance with forecaster and sales.
• Partners with other managers to meet branch goals.
• Hires, evaluates and recommends salary adjustments for supervised staff.
• Performs other duties as required.

About The Position

This role oversees branch inventory and supply planning, driving performance, managing supplier relationships, and leading a team to support overall business goals.

What you’ll do

• Establishes, tracks and communicates branch targets related to inventory and service performance
• Manages, develops, mentors and trains purchasing personnel including a team of Supply Planners, Forecaster and Inventory Coordinator
• Works proactively with purchasing and sales teams to monitor and reduce underperforming inventory
• Assesses purchasing options and completes purchase approvals
• Establishes goals and strategies for improved forecast performance for the branch and works directly with the Forecaster and Sales team to review performance and opportunities for improvement
• Works closely with other department managers to meet and exceed branch goals
• Hires, promotes, changes responsibilities of, evaluates and recommends salary increases for staff directly supervised
• Other duties as required

What you’ll need

• University degree or specialized certification (PMAC, APICS, or related work experience)
• Ability to analyze alternatives, use judgment and initiative in managing inventory
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experienced with ERP – MRP systems
• Must be highly organized
• Minimum (2) years of management experience required

Pay and benefits

This position is currently vacant. The annual expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
