Eventscape has an exciting opportunity for an Purchasing Clerk to join our team.

As the Purchasing Clerk, you are responsible for sourcing quality material, equipment, goods, and services at the most competitive prices to enable the company to operate efficiently and profitably. This position also involves continually improving purchasing and sourcing processes. The Purchasing Clerk is fiscally responsible to accounting. Ownership of the position, effective negotiation, networking, and time management skills are essential for success.

—This is a 100% in-office position in Toronto, Canada. We are not currently sponsoring candidates from outside of Canada—

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Purchasing Clerk position will be responsible for:

Purchasing Expertise
  • Supporting the purchasing team with contacting and sourcing vendors
  • Creating and issuing purchase documents
  • Identifying, evaluating, and escalating risks that could affect project deliverables and schedules
  • Communicating with vendors and resolving discrepancies in price, quantity, quality, and delivery dates
Logistics Support
  • Assisting with shipping and logistics by obtaining quotes and preparing all related shipping documentation
Accounting Support
  • Supporting the accounting department with daily matching of packing slips, purchase orders, and other related documents with invoices
Organization
  • Building out and maintaining processes to keep files organized and easily accessible
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory systems
  • Maintaining the vendor database; ensuring that purchase records and documentation are up-to-date

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Awareness of construction, material specifications, tools, and equipment
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A high proficiency with the Office 365 suite, especially Excel
  • An ability to meet deadlines, manage your time, and stay organized
  • A proactive approach to problem solving
  • Experience in an architecture, construction, or manufacturing industry is an asset
