Job description

Contributes to the success of Maintenance operations and Central Stores by collaborating with the Maintenance team to manage parts inventory and assemble work order parts.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates the supply and delivery of materials according to work order specifications.
  2. Builds material kits based on Work Order requirements.
  3. Picks orders for trades to assemble work orders.
  4. Maintains the material and power tool sign-in/sign-out logbook, tracking the location of power tools.
  5. Ensures orderliness and cleanliness of the Central Stores area.
  6. Performs administrative tasks such as updating Work Order records.
  7. Uses company vehicle to source local parts and pick up specific items.
  8. Works with the Maintenance Planner to send equipment for servicing to approved vendors following purchasing procedures.

Inventory Control:

  1. Monitors store inventory levels.
  2. Maintains inventory records in SAP.
  3. Updates Bill of Material in SAP.
  4. Prepares Purchase Requisitions for replenishment.
  5. Conducts cycle counts and maintains records; reports stock levels and accuracy to management.
  6. Receives goods from Central Receiving, unpacks shipments, and stores items.
  7. Verifies the correctness of received stock quantities.
  8. Prepares, packs, and creates Bill of Materials for items to be returned to vendors.
  9. Maintains inventory of paint, lubricants, and safety consumables.
  10. Manages Vendor Managed Inventory.
  11. Optimizes inventory levels by identifying obsolete and low-usage parts.

Purchasing:

  1. Purchases non-production Maintenance and Engineering items.
  2. Procures Capex equipment and services.
  3. Creates Purchase Requisitions for out-of-stock or specialized items and communicates requirements to Purchasing.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with experience in Central Stores.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • General knowledge of industrial equipment and parts.
  • SAP experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 20kg.
  • Mobility to access most areas of a large plant site.
