Salary range: $48,000-$56,000 per annum

About the Opportunity

The Integrated Marketing department develops and implements Focus Canada’s annual promotional and communication plan, manages online initiatives, and is responsible for coordinating product sales which help support the various ministries and programs of Focus Canada, managing the online bookstore and resource centre.

We’re looking for a Purchasing and Product Marketing Specialist to support our product marketing team with sourcing, inventory management, and promotional coordination. This is a dynamic role that blends strategic thinking, attention to detail, and a heart for ministry.

What’s the job?
Product Sourcing & Vendor Relations
  • Research and evaluate new product opportunities, including titles from Focus on the Family US and other vendors.
  • Meet with vendor representatives to review upcoming releases and special offers.
  • Coordinate product samples (digital or print) and collaborate with the Product Marketing Assistant.
  • Recommend titles for campaigns and ministry use based on marketability and alignment with our mission.
Purchasing & Inventory Management
  • Confirm product availability and source inventory from preferred distributors.
  • Generate and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy and timely approvals.
  • Reconcile vendor sales orders with submitted POs, noting any discrepancies in pricing or availability.
  • Communicate stock issues to the Constituent Response team and other departments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate product records in NetSuite, including pricing and availability updates.
Promotional & Marketing Support
  • Support ministry departments by recommending and sourcing appropriate resources.
  • Coordinate product needs for events such as conferences, retreats, and broadcasts.
  • Monitor inventory levels in advance of broadcasts and adjust orders based on response.
Forecasting & Reporting
  • Lead the forecasting process for purchasing and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather insights and align on inventory needs.
  • Generate reports for inventory, product performance, and promotional effectiveness.
Database & E-Commerce Management
  • Create and maintain product listings in NetSuite and the online store.
  • Conduct regular product file maintenance, including updates for out-of-print or discontinued items.
  • Liaise with IT and other teams to resolve database or system issues.
Team & Organizational Engagement
  • Participate in monthly marketing meetings with Focus on the Family US.
  • Represent the department in organizational meetings and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Provide cross-training and support within the product marketing team.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as required.
About You

  • You have a a diploma or degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • You possess 1 - 2 years of experience in purchasing, product marketing, or e-commerce.
  • You have strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • You have high proficiency in Excel, database systems, and e-commerce platforms.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment, often with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • You are highly motivated to complete tasks on time, with attention to detail
  • You have demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, and sound judgment.
