The Purchaser reports to the Vice President of Purchasing and Inventory and is responsible for ensuring accurate and appropriate levels of inventory within the company and branch network in order to meet and exceed customer expectations and maximize product sales. The Purchaser facilitates the solution process for issues with suppliers regarding purchase orders and products shipped.Position Type / ScheduleThis role will be onsite based out of the Head Office. This is a one-year contract position, covering maternity leave. Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with the ability for hybrid remote work following the probationary period.Work Location : 19295 25th Ave, Surrey B.CKey AccountabilitiesPurchasing : Manages Branch and Distribution Center replenishment to meet sales requirements efficiently. Analyzes purchase orders for regular buys and initiates P.O. requests to vendors. Addresses special order requests by liaising with sales reps and suppliers.Inventory Management : Collaborates to ensure branch inventory aligns with corporate / customer expectations. Plans appropriate inventory levels with stakeholders and sets up new suppliers.Returns : Initiates returns for optimal inventory levels, negotiating with suppliers and solving issues. Review dead stock and old inventory reports, obtaining discounts for write-offs.Internal Relations : Maintains communication with sales reps on deliveries and product availability. Assists in resolving P.O. and freight charge issues, and liaises on pricing system changes. Helps resolve Distribution Centre issues and advises the Purchasing Assistant.External Relations : Maintains positive relationships with vendors and sales agents, upholding corporate pillars.Quality Control : Initiates, documents, and contributes to solutions for quality problems.
