Job description

We are currently seeking a Full-time Purchaser to join our team!

In this position, the Purchaser is responsible for placing and expediting POs, managing inventory at an acceptable level, and providing product information to the sales and customer service teams as required. This position works closely with all departments including operations and accounting.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and improve relationships with suppliers and colleagues
  2. Issue and expedite purchase orders
  3. Resolve invoicing discrepancies
  4. Resolve supplier shipping errors
  5. Maintain acceptable inventory levels
  6. Identify opportunities for negotiation and review
  7. Monitor fill rates and backorders
  8. Maintain system data related to products and purchase orders (PO due dates, order controls, pricing, etc.)
  9. Work with other branches/departments to ensure information is accessible to the sales team
  10. Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  1. Previous purchasing experience in a distribution environment (preferred)
  2. Post-secondary education in a related field (preferred)
  3. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  4. Strong computer skills, previous ERP experience
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  7. Excellent organizational and time management skills
