The role involves procuring police uniforms, equipment, weapons, and related items for sworn members, maintaining inventory, providing orientation to new members, issuing items, conducting research on equipment, utilizing electronic tracking tools, developing vendor relationships, monitoring budgets, and maintaining electronic inventory systems. Specific duties include sourcing supplies, managing purchase orders, tracking expenditures, updating inventory records, conducting physical inventories, managing replacement schedules, liaising with vendors, and preparing budget reports. The position also provides uniform and equipment orientation to new members, issues uniforms and equipment, and conducts research on in-use equipment and uniforms. Additionally, the role involves participating in departmental committees and creating vendor repositories.
Education: Grade 12 completion plus courses in Microsoft Office, inventory management systems, and knowledge of occupational safety guidelines in law enforcement/military environments.
Experience: At least one year in warehouse and inventory management, including policies and procedures; plus six months in a law enforcement/military environment using inventory systems like Wisetrack. An additional six months of on-the-job training to familiarize with Transit Police policies is required.
The recruitment process involves demonstrating minimum qualifications and experience, followed by a standard interview including scenario and behavioral questions.
37.5 hours per week.
Resident; primarily on-site work.
Wage: $5,339 to $6,398 per month.
Must possess or obtain and maintain an enhanced security clearance.
