About the Opportunity



The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Public Works Operator II (40 hours per week) based in Lake Country, BC.



Reporting to the Roads Crew Leader, the Public Works Operator II is responsible for maintaining public roads, rights-of-ways, buildings and parks to provide a safe, clean and quality environment for the public.



Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:




  • Maintain and repair of roads, sidewalks, boulevards, ditches, storm drainage, bridges, rights-of-way and parks;

  • Perform equipment operation, flagging and customer notification;

  • Conduct and document ice, sidewalk, tree, catch basins, signs and roads inspections;

  • Operate District vehicles and equipment in a safe manner;

  • Snow removal as required ;

  • May be required to carry the on call pager.



More About You



To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of Grade 12 education. Additionally, a Public Works Operator II is required to have a minimum of 12 months work experience in road construction, public works or parks maintenance, preferably in a municipal setting. A valid British Columbia driver’s license and Basic First Aid Certification is also required.
