Job summary

Heiltsuk Tribal Council in Bella Bella, BC, seeks an experienced engineer to lead municipal and environmental projects on site at our remote location. The role covers planning, design, and supervision of water, waste management, and related infrastructure, with a focus on safe, sustainable outcomes.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience, an other trades certificate or diploma, and strong collaboration skills to work with clients and the engineering team to deliver projects on

Responsibilities

• Conduct municipal and regional traffic studies
• Monitor air, water and soil quality
• Plan and design water and waste management systems
• Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work
• Conduct site visits to gather relevant information
• Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements
• Develop construction specifications and procedures
• Establish and monitor construction work schedules
• Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work
• Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects
• Provide customer service
• Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates
• Offer mentoring
