Job summary

RSM Canada is seeking an Assurance Senior Associate for its public sector practice, serving municipal, provincial and national nonprofits. The role emphasizes high-quality client service, understanding client needs, and applying RSM’s audit methodology.

You will train staff, manage engagement teams, and communicate findings to leadership. Travel of about 25% is expected, with flexibility across Ontario or Quebec locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Active CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure in province of residence is required.
• 2–3 years of recent assurance experience in a public accounting environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and auditing software tools.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and CASs or regulatory requirements; ability to apply standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate audits of complex financial statements and related deliverables.
• Understand client business and industry to tailor assurance approach.
• Apply RSM’s Global Audit Methodology on engagements.
• Train and supervise Audit Associates on engagement teams; mentor staff.
• Communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to management and partners.
• Deliver client-ready financial statements and deliverables, including board communications.
