The Role

North Star: Make our clients famous by finding innovative ways to break conventions, cut through the clutter and garner attention through a variety of mediums (earned, paid, owned, shared).

Driven to create and manage best-in-industry PR. Build trust with clients as dedicated advisors by elevating their profiles through results-driven and thought-provoking communications programs. Grow and maintain strong relationships with members of the media, talent and influencer networks, as well as internal creative, strategy, production and accounts teams.

The PR Account Coordinator will be responsible for coordination and administration of multiple PR programs simultaneously.

The Account Coordinator, PR will be responsible for the following:

  • Support media relations efforts; personally foster relationships with key media, influencers and talent across the country and respond to requests in timely manner
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining media lists for the PR team; track and respond to new inquiries via website
  • Responsible for sending daily coverage updates to the larger team; morning and EOD updates required
  • Support team PR team on all program-related tasks including media lists, matrixes, mailers, monitoring press, critical paths and reports
  • Manage PR-related vendors and tools, including magazine subscriptions, MRP accounts, mailer supplies, etc.
  • Manage logistics for influencer programs including product fulfillment, contracts, etc.
  • Build understanding and knowledge of the clients’ business and their competitive environments
  • Track program metrics and success and manage project reports
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of written materials
  • Develop an understanding of various research methods; coordinate resources in implementing research projects
  • Adhere to project timelines and meet deadlines
  • Drive news bureau research and monitoring to ensure relevant daily news is captured for the PR team and clients
  • Manage team of interns
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the senior team

Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • 1-2 years PR experience as a communications specialist within the consumer and lifestyle sectors
  • Knowledge of the Canadian media and influencer landscape
  • Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage and execute a variety of PR tactics
  • Dynamic and energetic
  • Positive and outgoing personality
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, creative, entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of Google suite of products, MRP and Meltwater
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Bilingual (French and English) an asset
