The team :

The Account Coordinator will join our small but mighty team, and will support our Founder & Managing Director, Account Manager and Operations & Digital Specialist with a variety of tasks.

No day / week will be the same - but here’s an idea of what you’ll be working on :

  • Participate in client brainstorming and planning sessions.
  • Coordinate and assist with client PR plans and campaigns.
  • Draft media materials, including press releases, pitches, media advisories, backgrounders, key messaging and briefing notes.
  • Assist with media outreach and coordination of interview logistics.
  • Assist with client reporting.
  • Participate and attend client calls.
  • Assist with researching, planning, and executing media, client and SOMA events (including guest lists, logistics, and day-of coordination).
  • Help develop and manage BC-wide summer ambassador programs on behalf of clients.
  • Organize and update media / Influencer contact lists.
  • Work with Meltwater software platform (training provided)
  • Research Influencers to assist with client campaigns, assist with preparing Influencer contracts and preparing post-campaign analytic reports.
  • Write, design and schedule social media posts, newsletters and blog posts for SOMA (with an eye for tone, engagement and design).
  • Follow and research industry trends.
  • Undertake general communication and administrative duties.

You have :

  • General understanding of PR concepts and practices.
  • Candidates who have graduated from a PR or Comms program and who also have 6-months to 1-year of experience working in a PR or Comms setting will be prioritized.
  • Proven experience drafting media materials - press releases / pitches.
  • Proven experience landing coverage for clients and / or in-house brand.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools and compiling daily media scans, coverage reports, or client updates.
  • Ability to learn and work with a multitude of different software applications, i.e., databases, design software, Meltwater, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and individually.
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, reliable, organized, multi-tasker, positive attitude, known for exceeding expectations, and has a sense of humour.
  • Professional, detail-oriented, driven, and a problem solver.

This position is a hybrid, full-time, workplace model :

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays - Office in North Vancouver, all team members attend these 2x in-office days
  • Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays - Remote

The salary range for this role is $40,000 to $45,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, and previous experience. This position also includes a competitive benefits package and bonuses.
