Job summary

University of British Columbia is seeking a Research Assistant/Technician 3 to support harm reduction and substance use research within the Palis Laboratory, BC Centre for Disease Control, and Faculty of Medicine. The role involves data preparation, literature review, and knowledge translation materials.

You will work with a team across SFU, UBC, BCCDC and partner agencies, attend meetings, and help prepare manuscripts and presentations while adhering to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exposure and health outcomes data for epidemiologic analyses.
• Conducts literature review.
• Assists in the writing and preparation of scientific manuscripts.
• Assists in the preparation of scientific and knowledge translation presentations.
• Attends regular project meetings.
• Engages with other project partners.
• Identifies issues with project and suggests solutions.
• Develops timelines to ensure tasks are completed on time.
• May participate in other ongoing studies.
• Any other duties as required.
