An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Public Health Nurse to enhance community health in Sault Ste. Marie. This full-time role involves collaborating with diverse partners, conducting health assessments, and implementing health promotion initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a valid Ontario nursing registration. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on public health through evidence-based practices and community engagement. The PHN works in collaboration with internal and external partners to improve the health and well-being of the population (i.e. children, families, youth, and adults) in our communities. The PHN and the teams use knowledge of healthy growth and development, school health, healthy behaviours, community wellness, infectious diseases, evidence informed practice and the assessment of the community to plan health promotion and prevention initiatives. Programs and services will be delivered using relevant guidelines and protocols and the PHN will work in their full scope of practice.
Activities may include home visits, school and child care visits, clinical services, population health approach, community assessment, collaboration and meaningful community engagement.
