Salary
The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 / hour
Job Summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Public Health Nurse to join The Syphilis Response Team in a Temporary Full-Time capacity to support Population & Public Health in the Tri-Cities area. The Syphilis Response Team (SRT) nurse works as part of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for coordinating and providing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation services for Fraser Health clients who have, or are at risk, for infectious syphilis and other sexually transmitted infections. This role supports clients through an integrated case management approach, utilizing best practices including outreach and harm reduction principles and practices, to engage and retain clients in care. This role provides sexual health clinical services through established outreach settings, and provides sexual health promotion and prevention activities in the community. The nurse will also conduct case investigation, follow up and contact tracing for reportable communicable diseases.
This is an amazing opportunity for a Public Health Nurse to gain experience in this field who does not yet hold Certification in Reproductive Health (STIs) along with their BCCNM.

Detailed Overview
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Public Health Nurse (PHN), as an integral member of the Public Health Services team, provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health/Health Promotion Model. Applies knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotion, epidemiology, community development, primary health care, public health ethics primary and secondary prevention strategies. Translates knowledge from the health and social sciences to support health enhancing behaviours to diverse individuals, families, and population groups through universal and targeted interventions, programs and advocacy. Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates health services for individuals, families, groups and communities in schools, homes, communities and outreach locations.

Education and Experience
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Graduation from an approved school of nursing including public health nursing component. Six (6) months recent, relevant Public Health nursing experience or one years' recent nursing experience in Maternal/Infant/Child or successfully meets FH New Grad requirements with successful completion of final practicum/Co-op in Public Health. Valid Class V B.C. Driver's licence and have access to personal vehicle for business related purposes.
