Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Public Health Nurse to join the Outbreak Management Team in Chilliwack, BC, in a relief full-time capacity. The role supports Population & Public Health with responsibilities across immunization, outbreak follow-up, and community health promotion.

Successful candidates will be registered with BCCNM, have PHN experience or strong maternal/infant nursing background, and hold a valid BC driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Public health nursing component completed during nursing education.
• Six months of PHN experience or one year of maternal/infant/child nursing experience or FH New Grad pathway.

Responsibilities

• Immunize people against vaccine-preventable diseases.
• Investigate and follow up on communicable diseases and outbreaks.
• Provide prenatal/postnatal/family assessments and referrals to promote child health.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide health education.
• Maintain records and prepare reports as required.
