About the Role:

Join our team as a Public Health Nurse in a permanent part-time role based in Flaxmere, working with the Central team. As part of the National Public Health Service (NPHS), you will collaborate within teams and communities to promote health and wellbeing, applying public health nursing practices that integrate nursing, social sciences, and public health knowledge.

About the Team / Service / Location:

The public health nursing team is part of NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, focusing on wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level interventions, working across boundaries to deliver tailored services.

About You:
  • Build positive relationships and demonstrate agility, learning quickly and adapting fast.
  • Utilize advanced nursing knowledge through reflective practice, critical thinking, and professional judgment.
Skills and Experience:
  • Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • 3+ years clinical experience, especially with children and adolescents.
  • Authorized vaccinator (preferably Whole of Life).
  • Deliver culturally appropriate, strengths-based care aimed at reducing health inequities.
  • Commitment to professional development and achieving equitable outcomes.
  • Competence in Māori health models application.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience with Patient Management Systems.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full New Zealand driver’s license.
