Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health (or BoC-accredited program).
Current CIPHI(C) certification by the Board of Certification.
Member in good standing of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI).
Recent experience conducting public health inspections across programs (food safety, drinking water, etc.).
Experience using Hedgehog, Amanda or other health inspection software is an asset.

Responsibilities

Protect public health through development and implementation of risk-based programs and enforcement of legislation.
Enforce regulations and participate on committees at national and local levels.
Assess risk, communicate technical information clearly, and exercise sound judgment in health-related decisions.
