The main purpose of the job is to support and assist the responsible manager to maintain a safe and clean environment. The key role would be to upkeep the cleanliness of the Resort area to a high standard. Reporting to the Public Areas Manager, the Public Area Attendant will follow task lists that give direction to clean areas within the casino.
- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
- Fill cart with supplies and transport cart to assigned area.
- Vacuum carpets and corridors
- Remove trash and empty all waste bins.
- Empty ashtrays and other service items.
- Clean glass and mirrors.
- Sweep and mop floor surfaces.
- Clean the bathroom and toilet.
- Clean areas as assigned.
- Ensure that rooms are odour free.
- Report anything in need of repair or replacement to the appropriate person.
- Keep cleaning areas and tidy at all time and cleaning materials safely stored.
- Maintain polite and good communication with coworkers and customers at all times.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
- Be prepared to receive and undertake further training as required by the center.
- Turn in all lost and found items.
- To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
- All other duties as assigned
- Customer Service Skills Public Area Attendants need proper customer service skills.
- Physical Coordination The position requires physical, repetitive tasks to be completed including the following actions move, lift, carry, push, pull, sit, bend, crouch, kneel and stand. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Able to work as a part of a team.
- Able to work with little supervision.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling. Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
