Job description

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team in Stayner, ON. This is a permanent part-time position working approximately 29.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in care communities.
• Performing treatments such as gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and modalities like heat, ice, ultrasound, and TENS, under supervision.
• Leading group exercise classes that are safe and beneficial.
• Preparing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining a safe, tidy treatment environment.
• Communicating regularly with the physiotherapist regarding resident status and treatment updates.
• Recording treatments in our web-based system.

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology, or similar healthcare background.
• Experience in LTC settings is an asset.
• Standard First Aid & CPR certification.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening (within 6 months).
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) test clearance.
