Job description

PTA involves assisting licensed physiotherapists in providing patient care, implementing treatment plans, and educating patients and families about exercises and techniques to improve mobility and function, all under the direction of a PTA.

Tasks:
  1. Assist patients with physical abilities.
  2. Assist health care professionals.
  3. Carry out treatment programs under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities.
  4. Follow through treatment programs with patients.
  5. Clean and maintain equipment.
  6. Select appropriate exercises, apparatus, and manipulation.
Personal Suitability:

Demonstrate a positive work record and good attendance record.

Qualifications:
  • CPR Certified.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English.
  • Minimum of 6 months of recent relevant experience.
  • Have a keen interest in working with the elderly; working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm.
  • Fluency in Ojibway would be a definite asset or willingness to learn.
