Summary:

Reporting to the Hardlines Group Sales Manager, a Gun Counter Outfitter must safely handle firearms and adhere to provincial, federal, and company firearm regulations. They are responsible for providing a legendary customer service experience by greeting customers, assisting in merchandise selection, and helping them make buying decisions.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide legendary customer service by assisting customers in making buying decisions, identifying and evaluating their needs, and recommending products accordingly.
2. Have knowledge of various makes and models of firearms and scopes, and an understanding of hunting and related activities.
3. Promote Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s programs, including in-store surveys and in-store pick-up services.
4. Maintain visual presentation standards through signage, merchandise recovery, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and cleaning.
5. Handle customer issues using good judgment and problem-solving skills within the scope of the job.
6. Demonstrate a passion for the outdoors by staying informed about trends and emerging technologies related to outdoor lifestyles.
7. Assist in other store areas as needed based on business requirements.

Qualifications:

1. One or more years of experience in sales or service preferred.
2. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
3. Possession of a Restricted and Non-Restricted Possession and Acquisition License is required.
4. Ability to evaluate customer needs and recommend suitable products.
5. Provide superior customer service and exceed expectations.
6. Use good judgment and logical decision-making skills.
7. Experience in outdoor activities or related fields preferred.
8. Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s products is an asset.
