Job description

Position Purpose :

In this role, you will be responsible for performing the necessary job tasks and activities assigned to process the flow of goods through the Distribution Center. Your duties will include clerical tasks such as creating and distributing critical operations documents, maintaining records, preparing forms, verifying information, helping identify and resolve system issues, investigating vendor compliance issues, and addressing flow-through problems. Warehouse tasks will include, but are not limited to:

• Receiving goods,
• Unloading trucks, trailers, and containers and palletizing inbound and outbound goods,
• Outbound order picking & processing,
• Order packing and processing,
• Operating lift trucks, stock pickers, and floor sweepers (dependent on assigned tasks).

General Warehouse associates will be responsible for meeting or exceeding performance requirements in safety, quality, and productivity.

Position Responsibilities :

• Consistently adhere to all Home Depot policies and procedures.
• Perform DC functional duties as assigned according to our standard operating procedures (SOPs) and relevant work instructions.
• Work safely, productively, and accurately with minimal supervision.
• Follow safety policies and procedures, maintaining high safety standards.
• Maintain an orderly work area and good housekeeping.
• Be flexible and support other areas or functions when asked.
• Operate material handling equipment safely, such as lift trucks, stock pickers, and floor sweepers, to load, unload, sort, stage, and transport products.
• Collaborate with Operations Managers and colleagues to complete tasks effectively.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal teams and stores by paying attention to detail and completing work promptly.
• Meet safety expectations as outlined in The Home Depot Canada Environmental Health & Safety Management system.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Distribution Centre Management.

Knowledge / Experience Required :

• Experience in Distribution or Transportation is a plus.
• Experience operating forklifts or electric pallet jacks is an asset.
• WMS RF experience is an asset.
• Able to lift and move 50-70 pounds and use dollies for appliances.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Willing to work additional hours as needed to support customer needs.
