PART TIME ARENA ATTENDANT (2 vacancies)

Reporting to:Manager of Facilities Operations - Arena

Department:Parks and Recreation (Arenas)

Classification: PERMANENT Part Time; Unionized

Salary Range: $17.35/hour

Hours of Work: As per C.A

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure hockey nets are in place for various rentals.
  • Sweep and mop the facility
  • Clean dressing rooms, offices, washrooms, and general public areas
  • Empty and collect garbage cans and recyclable containers
  • Ensure dressing room policies are maintained
  • Report accidents, by-law infractions, and any unsafe conditions to Full Time staff on duty
  • Assist in the set up and tear down of functions in Goff Hall
  • Ensure all fire exits are clear of snow and any other obstructions
  • Assist and direct tournament organizers and members of the public
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 10 education.
  • Standard first aid/CPR/AED an asset, or must be able to obtain as a condition of employment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Working Conditions:

  • Usual arena conditions, works in the cold.
  • Deal with the public and users of the facility.
  • Some heavy lifting required
