Job summary

Alberta Health Services at Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton is seeking a Psychometrist I to support psychologists with pediatric assessments. You will meet with patients, administer and score intelligence, achievement, and neuropsychological tests, and record observations to inform clinical decision-making.

Requires bachelor's degree in psychology, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to work with medically complex children and families.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering and scoring a variety of psychological tests in a pediatric setting.

  • Administer and score intelligence, achievement, and neuropsychological tests.
  • Record behavioural observations to support psychologists in interpretation and decisions.
  • Provide support to psychologists in research/evaluation activities as requested.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to support pediatric assessments.

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated staff to work with our multidisciplinary teams across the Stollery Children's hospital supporting the psychology and neuropsychology team. Your ability to administer and score tests such as intelligence testing, academic and hands on training in screening/achievement, visual and executive functioning and neuropsychological assessments is required. Previous pediatric experience is essential.

Description:

As a Psychometrist, you will provide services related to psychological assessment, working under the direction of the responsible psychologist(s). You will meet with patients and administer and score a variety of psychological tests, and record behavioural observations. Your information and results are provided to effectively support the psychologist(s) responsible for interpreting assessment data and any related clinical decision making or recommendations. You may also provide support to psychologists in their research and or evaluation activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology from an accredited university.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail.Computer proficiency.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Friendly and personable.Must have ability to work with complex children and families.Test administration and scoring essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work under a registered psychologist.3-5 years working with medically/behaviorally complex children and recent neuropsychology hospital experience.Be familiar with clinical populations and developmental/ neurological conditions.Connect care training is an asset.
