Compensation and Benefits Package

40.18 - $54.14 Hourly

Candidate Registered (step 4) : $46.86 Hourly

Masters Registered (steps 5-8) : $48.75 - $54.14 Hourly

54.05 - $69.25 Hourly

Candidate Registered (step 3) : $60.80 Hourly

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Psychologist is a member of the interdisciplinary team. The incumbent will collaborate with other members of the team while providing assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and psychotherapy. The ability to conduct both individual and group treatment is required. As well, the incumbent will be required to work collaboratively with family physicians and other service providers and community agencies in the context of providing care. The successful candidate will be required to participate in quality improvement initiatives including peer supervision processes for ongoing clinical development.

This is a pooling posting and opportunities include Mental Health & Addictions and other medical areas across Nova Scotia Health.

About You

  • Recognized PhD / PsyD in Clinical Psychology or Masters in Psychology from an accredited university program
  • Current registration as a Psychologist with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP) or current listing on the Candidate Register under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist
  • A minimum of two years relevant clinical experience is preferred
  • Formal training and clinical experience in conducting psychological and cognitive assessment and consultation
  • Experience and expertise in conducting structured clinical interviews and assessments
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in formulating and implementing treatment plans
  • Travel may be required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
