We are currently looking for a Clinical/Research Neuropsychologist to fill a position jointly offered by the Department of Psychology and the Research Institute (Neuroscience and Mental Health). The Neuropsychologist will work primarily with school-age children and adolescents served by the Division of Haematology/Oncology and specifically, the Neuro-Oncology program, as well as team members of the Mabbott Lab.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
- Carry out neuropsychological assessments in order to relate current cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning to a child's neurodevelopmental, medical/neurological history and treatments.
- Write reports with recommendations.
- Provide feedback to families and clinic teams.
- Provide consultation to school teams, rehabilitation providers, and other health and educational professionals.
- Complement and extend the health care team's ability to meet the psychosocial needs of the child and family.
- Work collaboratively as a member of clinical and research teams.
- Actively engage in clinical research being conducted in the Mabbott lab.
- Integrate research and practice.
- Provide supervision to trainees.
Here's What You'll Need
- A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology from a CPA or APA accredited program or equivalent. Post-doctoral training in neuropsychology is an asset.
- Registration/eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) with declared competency in Clinical Neuropsychology with children and adolescents.
- Training in the scientisUclinician model of care.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in culturally competent practice, and extensive understanding of the importance of health equity, diversity, and inclusion in the delivery of healthcare services.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in neuropsychological assessment and diagnosis of children age 4-18, with developmental and neurological disorders.
- Proficiency with interviewing and educating families.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic platforms such as Microsoft Office, hospital documentation systems and other relevant technology.
- Evidence-based care and practice.
- Experience conducting clinical research with evidence of research productivity.
- Initiative and passion to integrate research and clinical practice.
- Demonstrates commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.
Employment Type
- 0.5 FTE, 12-month contract with modified benefits
