Psychologists provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals, families, and groups, working both independently and in teams. Responsibilities include consulting, research, program development, teaching, and supervision. Specializations include Mental Health, Geriatric, Health, and Neuropsychology, each focusing on specific patient groups and issues.
Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in Psychology, be registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology, and demonstrate collaborative, problem-solving, crisis management, and leadership skills. Additional language skills, especially French, are an asset.
