Qualifications

Psychologist, Outpatient Psychology and Eating Disorders

What you'll do
  1. Plan and organize services for specific programs or patient groups, in consultation with the Head of Psychology or designate, and in collaboration with the Clinic/Program Manager/Director.
  2. Participate in coordinating the inter-disciplinary team for service delivery.
  3. Deliver psychodiagnostic assessments and treatment services, including evaluations and psychotherapeutic interventions such as individual/group therapy, behavior management, play therapy, hypnosis, biofeedback, and parent groups.
  4. Document assessments, treatment plans, outcomes, and advise the treatment team.
  5. Serve as the primary Psychology contact for treatment teams and patient groups.
  6. Make recommendations for program planning, evaluation, and revision of referral and documentation procedures.
  7. Promote the department's services to the public, community, and professional groups.
  8. Provide information and advice to colleagues, physicians, and hospital staff regarding psychological assessments and treatments.
  9. Prepare and deliver in-service presentations and educational sessions.
  10. Represent the department at meetings as assigned.
  11. Supervise and evaluate Psychology Residents, trainees, and students; participate in training fellows as appropriate.
  12. Maintain current knowledge of relevant scientific literature and participate in research and outcome investigations.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
  1. Current registration as a Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, or eligibility for registration.
  2. Doctoral training in child clinical/developmental psychology, pediatric neuropsychology, or a related area.
  3. Recent experience in women's and/or children, adolescent, psychodiagnostic, clinical, or healthcare settings.
Skills & Knowledge
  1. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  2. Ability to perform duties in a timely manner and establish priorities.
  3. Ability to teach and instruct effectively.
  4. Proficiency in computer skills related to report writing and data management.
  5. Commitment to Indigenous reconciliation and knowledge of related social and political issues.
