Come work as a Psychologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Psychologist (Neuropsychology) to join the Short Term Assessment & Treatment Inpatient Unit at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Psychologist at Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:

  • Provide psychological services within a designated scope of practice in mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for clients across their lifespan with neurological, medical, neurodevelopmental, psychiatric conditions, and other cognitive and learning disorders.
  • Deliver neuropsychological services in acute and ambulatory care settings, utilizing specialized knowledge in brain-behaviour relationships.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Conducting neuropsychological assessments, psychodiagnostics, interventions, and liaising with external agencies.
    • Participating in clinical/case conferences, evaluating treatment effectiveness.
    • Maintaining client records, documenting diagnoses, treatment plans, test results, and preparing reports.
  • Engage in quality improvement, risk management, provide clinical supervision to trainees, and participate in research activities.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • At least two (2) years of recent, relevant experience in clinical neuropsychology and neurosciences, including diagnostic and consultation services.
  • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia or eligibility to register within one year.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Expertise in neurobehavioral diagnostics and consultation techniques.
  • Proficiency with neuropsychological assessment tools and methods.
  • Knowledge of brain-behaviour relationships and neurobehavioral syndromes.
  • Understanding of psychological diagnosis and other health disciplines' roles.
  • Strong research methodology skills and evidence-based neuropsychological practice knowledge.
  • Effective team collaboration, communication, supervision, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to new situations, and prioritize workload.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties and computer proficiency in client information systems.

Work hours and locations may change based on operational needs and collective agreement provisions. All health care workers in publicly funded facilities must report vaccination history for safety and outbreak management purposes.
