As part of an interdisciplinary team treating clients who experienced a traumatic or cumulative psychological injury or brain injury in the workplace, or who are dealing with persistent pain as a result of their workplace injury, this position is responsible for providing treatment recommendations, providing psychological work restrictions, identifying and addressing a client’s psychological barriers to return to work and/or providing psycho-education to clients to help assist with the return-to-work process. We are currently seeking individuals with a clinical, counselling or rehabilitation psychology background and experience with evidence-based treatment of trauma.

Your responsibilities:

  • Delivering psychological services as part of an interdisciplinary team primarily focused on injured workers suffering from traumatic and/or cumulative psychological injuries.
  • Completing psychological screens and treatment to enhance our clients’ abilities to return to work.
  • Facilitating psychology groups and conducting relaxation training classes to reduce the impact of disability related issues.
  • Mentoring undergraduate psychology interns and supervising psychology residents.
  • Assisting with program development as required.
  • Collaborating with psychology peers to ensure best practice.
  • Ability to work a 0.6 FPE during business hours.

Your experience and skills:

  • Completion of a Master’s Degree in Psychology.
  • Active with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
  • Completion of an internship from a Canadian Psychological Association accredited facility or equivalent.
  • Experience in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation setting involving the assessment and treatment of a variety of disorders and experience providing psychological services and experience in the treatment of clients with trauma is required.
  • Training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy is an asset.

Salary: Grade H6 – $45.59 to $59.02 per hour

In accordance with the Collective Agreement between HSAA and WCB (Millard Health).

These temporary, part-time positions are for approximately one year with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Final candidates for these positions are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
