Your Opportunity:

The East Calgary Family Care Clinic (ECFCC) is known for its innovative approach to providing comprehensive primary care for people with complex needs. This includes chronic illnesses, psychosocial stressors, addictions, and social or economic factors impacting health. The team comprises over fifty members across eight professions. The Psychologist I is responsible for assessments, treatment, and follow-up of clients with complex needs, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide services such as individual or group therapy using evidence-based modalities like CBT, EFT, and psycho-educational therapy. The role involves liaising with stakeholders, supporting team members, participating in program planning, and supervising students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make independent clinical decisions within professional guidelines to ensure client and community safety, and plan assessments and interventions.
  • Provide psychological clinical leadership through consultation and collaboration.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support.
  • Determine assessment protocols, set objectives, and develop treatment plans ethically and professionally.
  • Document interactions to facilitate communication and uphold standards.
Description:

As a Psychologist I, you will work with teams to deliver standard psychology services, including screening, assessment, diagnosis, interventions, and educational activities. Collaboration with healthcare professionals and community services is essential. You may supervise psychometrists, provisional psychologists, or students, and contribute to program and policy development, as well as research initiatives.

  • Location: East Calgary Health Centre
  • FTE: 0.80
  • Salary Range: $43.38 - $57.63
  • Shift Pattern: Days and Evenings

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
  • Active or eligible registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
Additional Requirements:
  • 2-4 years’ experience in community mental health.
  • Understanding of Substance Use and Concurrent Disorders.
  • Experience with EMR, EMDR/ART, trauma treatments.
  • Flexibility in a dynamic environment; experience with clients presenting with complex behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in psychological testing and assessments.
  • Certification in trauma protocols like EMDR or ART.
  • Experience in Primary Care and using Connect Care.
