Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. Located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside, Homewood Ravensview offers clients a comfortable and safe environment featuring serene ocean views from spacious rooms, welcoming common areas and a world-class team of physicians, psychiatrists, counsellors and 24-hour nursing professionals.

In your role of Psychologist, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.

What you'll be doing

  • Clinical assessments including a working diagnosis and treatment plan
  • Integration of psychosocial assessment into the team's treatment planning
  • Conduct group counselling sessions (multiple times per week)
  • Provide individual counselling in support of client's specific treatment needs and goals
  • Develop and present psycho-educational sessions to clients
  • Contribute clinical leadership support to community meetings
  • Participate in clinical interventions and family meetings
  • Work collaboratively, as an active interdisciplinary team member, with our Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Physicians, Social Workers, Clinical Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, Recreation Therapists and Nurses to prepare assessments, client reviews, treatment plans, therapeutic interventions and discharge plans
  • Provide verbal and written documentation, within consent parameters, related to assessment and client progress, as per program policies and professional standards
  • Utilize the client informed consent processes, ensuring continuity of care is maintained through the transfer of information including outreach to the client, family members, physician, team members, other service providers and the client personal support network

What we're looking for

  • PhD in Clinical Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited graduate program
  • Registered with the College of Psychologists of BC
  • 2+ years' experience assessing and treating individuals with mood / anxiety disorders, PTSD, substance use disorders, process addiction and concurrent disorders [will consider supervised practice for the right candidate]
  • Strong understanding of symptom clusters, diagnosis of PTSD and other disorders
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in treatment, assessment and research
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emotional regulation, grounding skills, CPT (Cognitive Process Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectic Behavioural Therapy) and Mindfulness meditation strategies
  • Effective computer skills, including the ability to use electronic medical records and computerized scoring systems)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
