Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments for pre-employment and diagnostics.
• Provide individual and group therapies addressing mental health conditions.
• Develop tailor-made mental health programs.

You will provide top-quality, whole-person care using a client-centered biopsychosocial approach with interdisciplinary teams, including physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy, vocational rehab specialists, case coordinators, psychologists, psychotherapists, counselors, social workers, and occupational therapists.

Your work will impact Canadian Veterans*, employees in organizations focused on workplace health, and insured employees and private payers seeking support for mental health concerns. Other clients include those served via third-party funders such as the Workers Compensation Board.

Key Responsibilities

• Bring assessment competencies to various applications, including pre-employment suitability assessments, diagnostic assessments, and treatment guidance.
• Deliver individual and group treatments for conditions such as anxiety, trauma, depression, somatic complaints, substance misuse, and interpersonal issues.
• Consult with mental health team members and interdisciplinary clinical teams.
• Develop new mental health program content tailored to client needs.
• Leverage innovative delivery methods, including digital therapeutics.
• Participate in in-house training and interdisciplinary case discussions.
• Contribute to program outcome evaluations at provincial and national levels.

Education and Licensure

• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university.
• Current registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology, with competency in adult populations (asset: counseling psychology, health/rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology).
• Individual professional liability insurance required at employment start.
• Trauma training required.
• Training/certifications in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and other evidence-based treatments are highly desired.

Applied Experience

• At least 2 years of clinical experience working with adult populations on return-to-work.
• Experience conducting psychological assessments for treatment planning.

Additional Abilities

• Proficiency in French is a strong asset, as services are offered in both English and French.
