Schedule: Daytime / evenings, weekdays

Location: Hybrid or Fully Remote, Lifemark CORE Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre

Are you a passionate psychologist looking to belong to a supportive, collaborative community to implement our bold vision to optimize the benefit of mental health services to diverse audiences from prevention to intervention? If so, join Lifemark Health Group and grow with us as we build provincial teams in support of our national mental health strategy.

Build a career while making a difference

You belong here if you value being able to leverage your psychological competencies as a trusted subject-matter expert to apply evidence-based and process expertise to meaningful step-care mental health programs across the mental health continuum (prevention, monitoring, and intervention).

You will provide top-quality, whole-person care using your client-centered biopsychosocial approach with interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams (physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy, vocational rehab specialists, case coordinators) and mental health teams (psychologists, psychotherapists, counselors, social workers, occupational therapists).

Your work will make a difference to the lives of Canadian Veterans:

  • via PCVRS, whose service-related health conditions limit their functioning in civilian life, as well as to employees in organizations focused on workplace health, and insured employees and private payers seeking support for their mental health concerns.
  • Other clients come through 3rd party funders such as the Workers Compensation Board, MVA, LTD / STD, etc.

You will find purpose in this role by:

  • Bringing your assessment competencies to applications such as pre-employment suitability assessments for high-risk occupations and diagnostic assessments to guide treatment and resource building.
  • Delivering individual and group treatments for conditions including anxiety, trauma, depression, somatic complaints, substance misuse, and interpersonal issues within the psychosocial context.
  • Consulting with other mental health team members and interdisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Developing new mental health program content tailored to various client groups.
  • Leveraging innovative approaches, including digital therapeutics, for service delivery.
  • Participating in in-house training and interdisciplinary case discussions.
  • Contributing to program outcome evaluations at provincial and national levels.

Education and licensure

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university.
  • Current registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology, with competency in adult populations; clinical (asset: counseling psychology, health/rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology).
  • Individual professional liability insurance required at employment start.
  • Training or certifications in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and other evidence-based treatments are highly desirable.

Applied experience

  • At least 2 years of clinical experience working with adult populations on return-to-work cases is preferred.
  • Experience conducting psychological assessments for treatment planning and other goals.

Additional abilities

  • Proficiency in both English and French is an asset, as services are offered in both languages.
