The salary range for this position is CAD $45.46 / Hr. - CAD $65.35 / Hr.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Manager, Psychological Health and Safety, the Psychological Health and Safety Specialist acts as an internal consulting resource for organizational development processes, strategies, decision-making, and projects that are directed at fostering a culture of psychological health and safety (PHS) in the workplace.

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives designed to strengthen health, resilience, and well-being at the individual, team, leader, and organizational levels.
  • Provide consulting services to support the goals and objectives of senior leadership with interventions such as change initiatives, strategy planning facilitation, process re-design, team building, education and training, consulting and coaching, culture and respectful workplace development issues.
  • Support the organization and specific functional areas in recognizing current patterns and developing strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, aligned with PHC commitments to Indigenous cultural safety, anti-racism, and equity, diversity, and inclusion.

What You Bring

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Organization Development, Leadership, Adult Education, Behavioral Science, or equivalent education and training.
  • Five (5) years' recent related experience in psychological health and safety, organization development, and / or leadership development in an intermediate to large organization.
  • Preference given to candidates with healthcare experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of psychosocial factors affecting well-being and organizational health, as outlined in the Standard.
  • Knowledge of organization development theory and applications.
  • Group facilitation skills in organization development roles.
  • Knowledge of leadership and team development.

Your Day to Day

  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate PHS management systems to address psychosocial factors impacting workforce mental health.
  • Lead initiatives supporting staff and medical staff in self-care, well-being, and total health.
  • Analyze systems and processes for optimization.
  • Partner with leaders in change management.
  • Provide coaching and training to enhance leaders' capacity for psychologically informed conversations.
  • Deliver resilience training and develop competency-based learning programs.
  • Facilitate team development and cultural change.
  • Collaborate with provincial and regional committees.
  • Engage stakeholders and liaise with external agencies.
  • Stay current with standards and best practices in PHS.
  • Represent the department on technical committees.
  • Lead project teams for training and process development.
  • Provide leadership to vendors and project teams.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Evaluate PHS interventions for effectiveness and satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
