Job summary

The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay is seeking an experienced Psychoeducator to develop and evaluate programs aimed at the psycho-social rehabilitation of users. Qualifications

Job description

Person who conceives, updates, analyzes, and evaluates programs aimed at the psycho-social rehabilitation of users.

Education: Must have a master's degree in Psychoeducation; Member in good standing of OPPQ (Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec).

Experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience is an asset.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify and analyze client needs;
  • Ability to communicate theoretical and practical knowledge related to coaching and training;
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills;
  • Strong critical thinking, synthesis, organizational, and decision-making skills;
  • High adaptability;
  • Open-mindedness to others' languages, cultures, values, and beliefs;
  • Knowledge of Cree culture and language, social/health issues, and Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun healing practices is an asset.

Language: Fluent in English; fluency in Cree or French is an asset.

About Us

The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay provides health and social services in the Eeyou Istchee region, a remote area in northern Quebec comprising nine Cree communities with nearly 18,000 residents. Services include front-line care in local clinics and second-line care at the regional hospital in Chisasibi. When necessary, patients are transported to institutions affiliated with McGill University's RUIS.
