Job summary

St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton is seeking psychiatrists to join the Schizophrenia Outpatient Service. This full-time position focuses on clinical care, education, and research within a regional program serving patients with psychosis and severe mental illness.

The successful candidate will hold a valid Ontario CPSO license and be a trained psychiatrist with FRCPC or equivalent, with teaching or clinical research interest and eligibility for a Faculty position with McMaster University.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will hold a valid Ontario CPSO license and be a trained psychiatrist with FRCPC or equivalent.
• There will be an expectation that the physician will be eligible for a Faculty position with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University.
• Interest and aptitude for teaching and/or clinical research is desired.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for managing an active case load of patients in the Schizophrenia outpatient Clinic.
• Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team which includes nursing and allied staff.
• Participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences.

St Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton is seeking interested psychiatrists to work at the Schizophrenia Outpatient Service. The Schizophrenia Service is a regional program dedicated to providing care to persons with psychosis and severe persistent mental illness. The service is dedicated to providing clinical service, education and research. We are seeking interested psychiatrists who could provide full-time support (three days or above) to this service.
