The Alex in Calgary, AB is seeking a part-time psychiatrist to provide consultative outpatient care at the Community Health Centre. You will engage in collaborative efforts with primary care providers and multidisciplinary teams to support clients facing socio-economic challenges.
Candidates must be in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and have a commitment to quality care. This role requires effective multi-tasking and familiarity with medical IT systems.

Since 1973, The Alex has been a community-based, not-for-profit organization providing integrated primary health care, community support services, and housing-focused programs to individuals and families who experience barriers to accessing traditional health, housing, and social service systems. Services are grounded in principles of health equity, low-barrier access, trauma-informed practice, cultural safety, harm reduction, and person-centered care.
The Community Health Clinic provides team-based primary health care and integrated social supports for individuals and families of all ages experiencing barriers to accessing traditional services, with a focus on comprehensive wraparound care that addresses medical, mental health, and social needs.
Psychiatrists at The Alex Community Health Clinic provide appointment-based psychiatric services in a non-judgmental, holistic, and opportunistic manner. Working alongside interdisciplinary team members and primary care physicians, psychiatrists provide consultative psychiatric care with a trauma-informed and harm reduction perspective.
This is a part-time position.
