Job description

Arms Open Counselling is currently looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join their team with offices in Smithville, Beamsville, Binbrook and Dunnville.

Onsite required at 2 offices of your choosing.

This is a hybrid position with in-person requirements at our offices, as needed.

We are seeking a psychiatric nurse practitioner (independent contractor) who will conduct assessments for mental disorders such as ADHD, ODD, bipolar, and other mental health conditions. You will also be responsible for developing treatment plans and collaborating with our team to support our client’s mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and treating ADHD and other mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for ADHD and other mental health disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the therapy team.
  • Monitor clients’ progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate and support clients and their families regarding ADHD and mental health management.
  • Stay current with best practices and research in the mental health field.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in nursing specializing in psychiatric/mental health.
  • Current registration as a nurse practitioner in Ontario.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating ADHD and other mental health conditions.
  • Must have 1 year experience delivering assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and build trust with clients
  • Empathy and compassion for clients experiencing mental health challenge
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Expected hours: 10-15 per week based on demand
