Your Opportunity:
The Seniors Mental Health program provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation programs for individuals, generally over the age of 65, with psychiatric illnesses such as dementia, mood, and thought disorders. The goal of the program is to help each patient achieve their optimal level of functioning in preparation for community integration. Specialty programming includes Mood and Thought Disorder, Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Enrichment, and Specialized Dementia. The service focuses on providing treatment and medication recommendations for seniors with complex presentations. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
As a Psychiatric Aide, you will work collaboratively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to meet the personal care needs and comforts of patients according to the patient care plan and facility policies. You will assist nurses with routine care to address patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs, as well as support organized activities or programs. Your responsibilities include observing and reporting on patients' mood, health, and well-being, maintaining effective communication with patients and health professionals, assisting in maintaining a safe environment, and supporting the general work area.

Completion of Grade 12. A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered.
