Job summary

CIMT College is seeking a PSW Clinical Instructor/Supervisor to oversee the Personal Support Worker program in Simcoe, ON. The instructor will follow CIMT College policies and utilize provided manuals and resources to train students for employment in the field.

Responsibilities include delivering lessons, assessing progress, maintaining records, and supporting admissions with prospective students. Flexible shifts include morning or evening schedules Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 36 months of work experience in the PSW/RN/RPN vocation.
• Must hold a PSW college certificate and a NACC PSW certificate (post-2015) or be an RN/RPN registered with CNO.
• Must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Check and TB test result.

• Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of the field.
• Instruct curriculum using pre-authorized and provided materials.
• Teach using diverse and structured methods (lectures, demos, group work, labs).
• Administer and mark quizzes, assignments, exams and other assessments.

Job Summary

CIMT College is looking for someone to supervise the students under Personal Support Worker program. This program is registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The successful candidate would be required to follow CIMT College’s policies and procedures.

Courseware, resources, evaluations, and daily lesson plans are provided in an Instructor Manual. The Instructor is responsible for following the provided instructor manuals and using the resource materials to train students with the required knowledge and skills to prepare them for employment in the field.

CIMT College places a premium on professional conduct, combined with excellence in classroom instruction, with primary emphasis on hands-on training.

Mon to Friday-Morning 6:30am/7 am to 2:30pm /3pm

OR

Mon to Friday -Evening 2:30pm/3pm to 10:30 pm/11pm

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field
• Instruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials
• Teach students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, independent or group projects
• Employ appropriate adult teaching and learning strategies to communicate the subject matter to diverse students
• Administer and marks quizzes, assignments, exams and/or other assessments to monitor and evaluate students’ progress according to guidelines and procedures
• Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptly
• Provide feedback on student performance
• Arrange feedback from students on the instructor, content, and facility at the end of each course
• Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environment
• Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude
• Maintain attendance records accurately
• Assure that classrooms are left in a clean and orderly fashion at end of class without loss of or damage to equipment or other resources
• Provide support to the admissions team with potential students who have questions about the program or future career
• Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation
• Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information
• Stay current in the subject matter through professional development
• Display an attitude of teamwork and problem solving
• Perform other related duties as required

Skills Required

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems
• Excellent oral and written communication to present information in a way that students will understand as well as adapt to the different learning styles
• Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model

Qualifications

• Must Have minimum 36 months of work experience in the same vocation(PSW/RN/RPN) AND Must be a Personal Support Worker with a college certificate and a NACC certificate from a PSW program, post 2015 OR active RN/RPN registered under CNO
• Should have a valid proof of Vulnerable Sector Check
• Should have a valid proof of clear TB test result
• Experience required in a Canadian clinical environment, preferably in a long-term care/hospital/community/ chronic care setting as as Personal Support Worker / RN/ RPN active under CNO
• Hold a Bachelor degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent degree/Graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent/ Graduate of a registered OCC or equivalent
• Meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005
• Must be available to supervise In assigned Clinical Facility as per the accepted schedule

PAY Details-

Base Pay Rate- CAD $20/hr-$23/hr
