Job summary

Galvion LTD in Montreal is seeking an entry-level Prototyping Technician I to support fabrication of prototypes, mock-ups, and fixtures, under supervision. You will learn to operate 3D printers, laser cutters and basic CNC equipment while developing mechanical and electrical assembly skills.

Colleagues include engineers and senior technicians; this role offers hands-on experience in prototyping, CAD tasks, and collaboration across R&D projects as part of a dynamic team in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of practical experience; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Basic manual skills for prototyping with small hand tools and common shop equipment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, including soldering and reading schematics.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with plastics, composites, and rapid prototyping is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in fabrication and assembly of prototypes, mock-ups, jigs and fixtures.
• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, 3D printers, laser cutter and other prototyping equipment under supervision.
• Perform basic electrical/electronic assembly tasks including soldering and wiring.
• Read and interpret basic electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Document prototype iterations and observations; maintain 5S standards in the shop.
