Work directly with the Founder

At Provisions Group, we connect skilled professionals with companies doing meaningful, innovative work—and this one is different. Our client is a well-funded new player in the manufacturing space, aiming to disrupt the food tech industry with a brand-new prototype machine.

We’re looking for someone hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, build-it-as-you-go environment. This is not a back-office role—you’ll be in the thick of it, helping take an idea from sketch to machine, and eventually to scaled production.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and test mechanical prototypes from scratch, using Fusion 360 models as a guide. This includes hands-on assembly, testing tolerances, and iterating on designs based on performance and feedback.
  • Operate a Formlabs Polymer SLA printer to create prototype parts. You’ll be responsible for print setup, post-processing, and routine maintenance of the printer.
  • Evaluate fit and function of printed and machined parts. You’ll be the one catching the little things—print errors, tolerance mismatches, and real-world challenges that don’t show up on a screen.
  • Assist in design markups and documentation, working closely with the Founder to track updates, design changes, and testing results. You’ll keep digital and physical records organized and up to date.
  • Maintain and organize the lab, including tools, parts, and printer supplies. This role owns the cleanliness and functionality of the work environment.
  • Source and manage components, from off-the-shelf mechanical parts to simple electronics. You’ll help spec new parts and ensure everything needed for builds is in stock or on order.
  • Support the development of the prototype production line, participating in conversations around tooling, material flow, and design-for-manufacturing improvements.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience with Fusion 360, including reviewing assemblies, tolerancing, and basic design adjustments.
  • Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical assemblies. You don’t need to be a machinist, but you should know your way around a shop.
  • Some exposure to electronic components—you don’t need to design PCBs, but understanding wiring diagrams, sensors, and how electronics integrate with mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational habits and an eye for detail. This includes maintaining parts logs, labeling hardware, and following version control on designs.
  • Clear communication and comfort working directly with a founder and small team. You should be confident speaking up when things don’t look right or when you have a better idea.
  • A curious mindset. This role is perfect for someone who loves problem-solving, learning new tools, and thinking creatively to build something that doesn’t exist yet.

This is an opportunity to be at the heart of a bold, well-funded product launch in the physical tech space. If you’re mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and want your fingerprints on something new, reach out.

Let’s talk about how to get you in the lab and working on something that’s never been built before.
