Description:
As a Protective Services Officer II, you will provide security and protective services for all patients, visitors, staff, and AHS property including: violence monitoring, prevention, and intervention; enforcement of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal statutes; asset loss prevention and internal investigations; preparation of court documents and securing evidence; risk assessment and hazard identification; arrests, apprehensions, and detentions of persons; and being a first responder to critical events. You will support facility departments on security and safety practices, participate in reviewing and recommending policies, and foster positive public relations through relationships with internal and external contacts.

Salary Range: $33.42 - $38.27 per hour

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General
- Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks)
- Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence
- Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed within 6 months prior to employment
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Active or eligible for Community Peace Officer appointment
- Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with no more than four demerits and no charges or suspensions
- Current Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years post-secondary education in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related field
- Two years related security/law enforcement experience
- WHMIS training
- CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention and Pressure Point Control Tactics certification
- Current First Aid and CPR Level C – AED certification
