Job summary

Canada Rocket Company is seeking a Mechanical Technician for our rocket test facility in Canada. You will assemble, install, maintain, and troubleshoot propulsion-related hardware, including a 725 kN engine, while working with test engineers to prepare for hot-fire campaigns and ensure safety and quality standards.

This hands-on role involves mounting articles, wiring instrumentation, performing leak checks, and supporting pre/post-test activities in a high-hazard environment.

Qualifications

• Technical/trade certification or associate degree in mechanical technology, aerospace, welding, machining, or similar.
• 2+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly, maintenance, or technician experience (aerospace/oil & gas/industrial settings).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
• Experience using hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
• Familiarity with fluid systems, torquing, wiring, and fastener installation.
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble rocket engines and subassemblies per drawings and specifications.
• Mount test articles and engines onto test stands and fixtures.
• Install instrumentation, sensors, transducers, and thermocouples.
• Perform leak checks and pressure tests on fluid and gas systems.
• Conduct pre-test inspections and verify hardware configuration against documentation.
• Support hot-fire test operations, including setup, console support, and safing procedures.
• Perform post-test teardown, inspection, and refurbishment of hardware.
• Document discrepancies, wear, and damage; report to engineers.
• Calibrate valves, actuators, regulators, and other components.
• Complete travelers and quality records for traceability.
• Collaborate with engineers and inspectors to resolve technical issues.
• Support facility and test stand build, modifications, and upgrades.
