Propulsion System Battery Management System

Responsibilities
  • Support design and release teams in manufacturing and assembly plants for the Battery Management System (BMS).
  • Collaborate with lead BMS and Pack Integration DRE, software engineers, technical specialists, and plant personnel to ensure successful BMS implementation.
  • Develop and verify BMS calibrations.
  • Perform Battery EOL testing, troubleshoot, and report issues for resolution.
  • Analyze EOL data using Vector CAN tools, INCA, or plant diagnostic tools to support problem-solving activities.
  • Assist in authoring EOL tester change requests and support change control processes.
  • Establish and document new requirements, best practices, and lessons learned under guidance from BMS engineering.
  • Support vehicle triage and system-level troubleshooting on the assembly line and in the field.
  • Collect, post-process, and analyze data during calibration release activities.
  • Identify root causes of functional model issues, document controls and software issues, and perform virtual and in-vehicle testing to achieve calibration maturity.
  • Collaborate with the center of competency to review issues and follow calibration best practices.
  • Support vehicle fleet and logistics activities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with manufacturing experience or equivalent education.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on business applications.
  • Experience with data acquisition and diagnostic tools like INCA and Vector CANalyzer.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
  • Proficiency in application engineering principles.
  • Attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with High Voltage Battery or Powertrain systems.
  • Knowledge of electronic system troubleshooting, embedded controls, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with diagnostics fundamentals and tools like INCA, CDA, CAN, CANalyzer, Canoe, oscilloscopes, etc.
