Never satisfied with the status quo, our new team member will have an insatiable appetite to create winning proposals. They will have an eye for design, be a strong writer and editor, and enjoy laying out and designing complex and compelling proposals.

A trusted colleague, they’ll leverage best practices in project management to make sure deadlines are met, communication is clear and constant, and things run smoothly.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role will join a congenial team of marketers, while also working closely with Principals and other firm leaders.

What you will do :

Proposal submission coordination

  • Manage the entire proposal submission process, from the Go-No-Go Decision, through the creation and delivery of the proposal itself, and on to the interview.
  • Manage multi-stakeholder teams, including internal partners and external sub-consultants, maintaining a high standard for deliverables and driving accountability.
  • Engage with project team members to identify and articulate compelling project stories – including architecture projects, inclusive design, graphic design, and more.
  • Write and edit engaging content that communicates our value proposition and unique differentiators.
  • Evaluate and edit content, both technical and non-technical, to ensure messaging is consistent, engaging, and appropriate.
  • Take responsibility for content, design layout, production, and timely delivery of proposal submissions.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather information and assets on current and past projects to develop project sheets, update team resumes, and maintain a current repository of work.
  • Incorporate daily best practices for filing content and assets
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with a team looking to streamline processes while increasing impact.

Marketing tasks

While proposal writing is the primary function of this role, you will actively support other marketing and business development related activities, including :

  • Market and competitor research that helps strategically position the firm
  • Pursuit tracking, ensuring a streamlined and organized approach to the process
  • Coordination of marketing activities such as award submissions, sponsorships, and sales asset creation

Required skills, knowledge, and abilities :

Technical

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign
  • Strong writing and editing ability
  • Experience in proposal writing, creative storytelling, or other written and editorial disciplines
  • Strong design eye : experience with digital arts or graphic design is an asset.

Interpersonal

  • Exceptional project manager; self-motivated and confident coordinating multiple team members, including senior leaders, and meeting deadlines;
  • Strong listening and communication skills, with an ability to convey ideas clearly;
  • Team player and highly adaptable, demonstrates initiative and positive attitude, ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Able to work independently; seeks input and asks for help from team members when needed
  • Collaborate seamlessly with diverse personalities and adapt to various workstyles within a team environment, while keeping the team accountable for deliverables

  • Possess strong organizational, planning and time management skills, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, precision and the ability to multi task effectively under tight deadlines

Education & Experience :

  • Diploma or degree in marketing, business, communications, design, publishing, journalism, humanities, or similar
  • 3+ years in a related role with transferable skills
  • Some experience or knowledge of design, architecture, engineering, or construction industries is an asset

Salary range : $65,000 - $80,000
