Job summary

InterRent REIT seeks an experienced Property Operations Manager to oversee daily operations across multiple residential properties in Montreal, ensuring safety, cleanliness and building condition.

You will supervise in-house staff and contractors, coordinate preventative maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, elevators, fire protection and security systems, and monitor budgets while ensuring compliance with codes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in property operations or similar role.
  • Experience with residential construction and building repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing contractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; Yardi is a plus.
  • English and French communication is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs to building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, elevators, fire protection, and security systems.
  • Managing and supervising work performed by in-house maintenance staff and outside contractors.
  • Coordinating contractors and vendors for repairs, inspections, maintenance, and building improvement projects.
  • Working closely with Property Managers to address operational and resident concerns.
  • Ensuring properties comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
  • Reviewing quotations, invoices, and project costs while supporting operating and capital budgets.
  • Responding to building emergencies and coordinating appropriate resources when required.
  • Performing all other duties as requested.

Job description

Must Haves
  • 3+ years of experience in property operations, facilities management, residential property management, or a similar role;
  • Experience with general residential construction and building repairs;
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance and mechanical systems;
  • Experience supervising employees and managing contractors;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple properties, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proficiency with MS Office;
  • Knowledge of Yardi property management software is considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with applicable residential tenancy legislation is considered an asset; and
  • English and French communication skills are considered a strong asset.
More Information
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and own vehicle,
  • Must be able to travel between properties as required;
  • Must be available to respond to emergencies during normal operating hours; and
  • Participation in an after-hours rotational emergency response team may be required
